I tend to agree with your assessment – it's pretty cool, but not yet fully featured.

I think that it would work well to create slideshows on the run, but I don't have much need to do that. Also, I generally use a lot of pictures from flickr in my presentations, and, since I can't really download flickr pictures and add them to iphoto easily on the ipad, I am pretty much destined to only use the mobile keynote every once in a while to create presentations on-the-fly.

I find it very odd that there are no presenter notes either, that is a giant miss.

One couldn't import, apparently I created it in an older version if Keynote, and the iPad only accepts presentations from iWork '09 forward. The next one had actions deleted and had trouble with a couple of images. Third one replaced several fonts. I'm guessing this is a better tool for presentations created on the iPad, or created very simply on the Mac. And the loss of presenter notes and build previews was a big and disappointing surprise, as I rely heavily on seeing what's coming next and bullets in my notes. Oh well. Still pretty cool, and it ran seamlessly when hooked up to a monitor.

I would say, upon first impression, that this app works best for creating it's own presentations, but doesn't seem to be as strong at playing your presentations that you create on another mac.

The presentation notes functionality does not work, which is really odd. That is the first truly baffling thing I have found about the ipad.

I will take a look at this today, and post some follow-up thoughts on the presentation feature and see if there is anything missing/screwy that I see using it for the first time. I want to test to make sure that presentation notes are coming through, as I saw that perhaps they would not.
