I am psyched about refreshing the overall image that I have just completed on this site.  I do always think that a new year is an opportunity for renewal and new opportunities, and this year I chose to tackle the site design as part of that renewal process.  And what can we refresh and renew if not our image?  We are all constantly refining, refreshing, and renewing our image as we grow older.  That’s just part of life.  As it’s part of life, it’s also part of the business world – Businesses are constantly reinventing themselves as well.  We need to do this in order to stay fresh and viable.

I was thinking about it, and it reminds me of the feeling you get when you edit your closets and drawers and get a fresh new start.  I had been using the Thesis framework for WordPress, which is decidedly awesome, but it’s also a lot of work – lots of tweaking and learning about php hooks, stuff which I am not that interested in.

That stuff had really begun weighing on me, and it actually was psychologically preventing me from writing and sharing valuable stuff with you guys.  It’s like how you get stuck wearing the same three things even though your closet is chock full of stuff – the noise begins to overwhelm the signal.

At any rate, I am back, and am looking forward to sharing this new year with all of you.  So this image refresh worked for me.  I feel rejuvenated, unencumbered, and ready to tackle the new year.  I am hoping that you will feel the same way – and you’ll tackle that brand image, closet, or drawer full of clothes that needs some editing!
